Our Board

The Board of Trustees of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center is grateful for the pioneering efforts of Mabel Fentress Miller, Dade County public school teacher and Key Biscayne resident, to provide outdoor, hands-on environmental education programs for Miami-Dade County’s children. From humble beginnings in 1969 at the back of a hotdog stand in Crandon Park, Mabel’s passion evolved into Marjory Stoneman Douglas’ dream fulfilled of a nature center by the sea in 2000.
