“Plastic Poetry #2”

Cherry Pickman is the O, Miami Marjory Stoneman Douglas Poetry Award winner. An excerpt from her poem “Tropical Disturbance” is Plastic Poetry ‘s second public art installation, made using five-inch tall polypropylene letters rendered from 6.2 pounds of recycled post-consumer plastic and plastic pollution harvested from a beach cleanup held at the Biscayne Nature Center on February 18. 2021.
